How did you hear about LA Tri Club?
I first saw the name at the LA Marathon in 2018, LATC had a canopy up and were helping people out and thought, "Triathlon huh!” I began to follow them and began reading into the sports!

What got you interested in triathlon?
Running has been tough on my body.  I did the 5k’s, 10k’s, half-marathons, full marathon, mud runs, etc. and just needed to more options to just running.

What was your first Triathlon?
I just completed my first (The Pasadena Triathlon) this past weekend! Mentally I thought I was ready, results indicate I’m far from it! LOL. I have lots of room for improvement.  Main thing is that I'm having fun!

What is your favorite race and why?
My first and only marathon, the L.A. Marathon, simply because it was an amazing race to see so many people out cheering you on that it didn’t feel like 26 miles. The L.A. scenery is simply the best!

If you could pick three MUST HAVES / MUST DO'S on race day morning, what are they?
Based on my one race experience, I’d say arrive early! Still learning the ropes and settling down!

Have you been to any LATC events so far?
Not yet! I’m two weeks in and I’ve done the bike changing clinic, but I’m monitoring the events and can't wait to sign up for more.

Do you have any plans for more races in the near future?
If ready, yes! The L.A. Tri Series!

What do you do outside of your training? For work, other sports, for fun, etc
I work in Law Enforcement, so times are tough all around.  After work, my time is dedicated to family. I manage to find workout time in between it all!

What has been the most difficult thing for you personally about training for triathlons?
Finding the time. Losing hours of sleep to make time. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way!”

Do you know anyone else that is currently a member of LATC?
No I do not.
