Angeles Crest Ride
Semi-fast bonk-fest in the Angeles National Forest.
One of five routes, depending on weather & group preference: (1) Mt Wilson (40 miles & 5,164'), (2) Upper Big Tujunga (47 miles & 6,011'), (3) Singing Springs (59 miles & 7,516'), (4) Cloudburst (67 miles & 8,225') or (5) Red Box to the Montrose Ride (79 miles & 5,944').
Riders accept risks. Cars will come to close & may even try hit you. Use a rear-view mirror & be ready to jump. Please have a helmet, front/rear lights, flat kit, mirror, bottles, snacks & a cell phone. Water stops at Singing Springs fire station & the infamous Newcomb's Ranch.
Clip-in at 5:45 - please arrive by 5:30. Starbucks at Gould & Foothill in La Cañada. Please maintain safe speeds and drafting distance on downhills. Rounding corners, expect cars & trucks to occasionally be in your lane. Sitting up & spinning on the downhills extends the workout. Stay Zen.
