Kona Marathon
26.2 miles The Course The Marathon starts at the Keauhou Shopping Center on Alii Drive, just south of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. The course begins heading north on Alii Drive through Kailua-Kona and up to the intersection of Alii Drive and Kuakini Highway. The course then turns left on Kuakini Highway to “The Old Airport” (a real airport made into a park after the current airport was built). The course then jogs right up Makala Bouelvard through the Kona Commons Shopping Center and then left onto Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Highway 19). Continuing on Queen Kaahumanu Highway then turning left onto the Natural Energy Lab Road (OTEC).
