Ironman Wisconsin
IRONMAN Wisconsin features over 45,000 spectators who line the course through Wisconsin farm land and the downtown streets of Madison, WI Hosted in the beautiful town of Madison, Wisconsin, home to the University of Wisconsin, visitors can enjoy walks through downtown Madison and the University of Wisconsin campus. State Street in downtown Madison is a popular destination for visitors and locals alike, providing a plethora of restaurants, shops, and galleries. The city of Madison also hosts an unparalleled Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning, giving athletes and spectators alike another way to enjoy this rural location that has the benefits of a larger city. The one-loop swim starts in the water and takes place in Lake Monona in downtown Madison. Spectators will have a panoramic view of the swim from the Monona Terrace, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and along the lake shore. The bike course takes riders 16 miles out of town before beginning two 40-mile loops in rural Dane County. These loops are extremely hilly, with many tough climbs and turns throughout. Athletes will get a lift as they pass through the crowds at the Verona Loop Festival. Spectator support on the run course is unparalleled. Athletes will complete two loops through downtown Madison, the University of Wisconsin campus, Camp Randal Stadium, State Street and the scenic path alongside Lake Mendota.
