Pasadena Sat Ride- 40m (flat)
Starting promptly at 7:30am (safety briefing at 7:20am) from 175 S Fair Oaks in Pasadena the group will ride down to Rio Hondo River Trail and return via the San Gabriel River Trail for a total ride of about 40 flat miles. There is plentiful street parking but you must be back before 11am. These rides are open to all levels of experience. They are planned in such a way so that everyone can go at their desired pace. The main group breaks up based on desired speed and typically takes about 2.5 hours. As a guide, if you ride 15+ mph on the flat you will be able to successfully complete this ride. We encourage everyone to take turn by turn directions just in case. If you want to jet off the front with a faster group that is perfectly fine. If you are unsure reach out the week before to get more details. In case of inclement weather we play it conservative. One lost training day won't kill your season but a nasty fall could. The ride leader will make that call as late as Friday evening sometimes. Have the ability and supplies to change a flat tire and have water/nutrition. We always ride with helmets & no MP3 players. Finally, stay out of aerobars when in a pace line. Disclaimer: Participation is at your own risk
