Runner’s World’s Bart Yasso has called it the "Must do in your lifetime" marathon. The Big Sur Int’l Marathon offers a course that features incredible beauty as well as a serious challenge for most runners & walkers. Staged on Hwy 1, runners and walkers are treated to panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean on the left and the pastoral beauty of the coastal mountain range on the right. There is an eclectic offering of music along the course, including the Yamaha Grand Piano at Bixby Bridge.

• The walk/run begins at Rocky Point Restaurant at 7:30 a.m. Must be 10 years of age or older to enter. Limited to 1,600 entrants.
• This is a tag timed, non-competitive event with a 5 ½ hour cut-off. Participants may either walk or run, or do a combination of both.
• Entry fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. No exceptions!
Headquarters for the Marathon is in Monterey, 110 miles south of San Francisco, 400 miles north of Los Angeles. You can fly directly into Monterey Airport; other airport options include San Jose, (70 miles away), San Francisco and Oakland (110 miles).
