Renegade Racing and Sport Chalet have put together a series of clinics in La Canada, Marina Del Rey & Huntington Beach to help you train and prepare for the Sport Chalet Magic Mountain Man Triathlon and Run on 10.10.10. Whether you do the Olympic or Half Ironman distance triathlon or are just THINKING about it, you will definitely benefit from our upcoming clinics. Each clinic will pair Ironman Champion Kate Major as guest speaker together with a local coach for a wealth of information. Clinics will last approximately 1 hour and include Q&A. CLINIC TOPIC -Transitions and Endurance Sport Nutrition Learn tricks to quicker triathlon transitions. You’ll learn quick tips on spotting your bike rack, cleaning your feet, laying out your gear, whether or not to wear socks and more. Also learn about how to eat for various distance races, training nutrition, pre-event preparations and recovery. YOUR COACH: The 1st clinic of the series will be led by Coach Gerardo Barrios of Fortius Coaching: Gerardo's mission is to encourage and motivate people to live a full life of activity and goals, which strengthen the mind, body, and spirit. Combining 15 years of teaching, 9 years of racing and 4 years of coaching, Gerardo provides professional expertise, patience and personal attention providing a structured training program based on sound research-based advice that will make athlete's stronger. Gerardo has finished over 60 triathlons since 2004, including 9 Half-Ironman’s and 3 Ironman’s.
