Swim Distance Challenge-Town Hall Meeting!
Rumors of a very special open water swimming event that will cross the Santa Monica Bay have been heard around the piers, bays and shorelines of Southern California.
The televised multi-race event, called the Distance Swim Challenge, is reported to have been set for October 16, 2010.
On March 8th LA Tri Club would like to invite you to come be a part of shaping history. At the Santa Monica Library (601 Santa Monica Blvd) from 6:30 – 830 pm there will be a presentation on the largest open water swimming event in the United States. We are asking you to help shape this world distance swimming championship. As the largest and most dynamic Tri Club in the world let us show national and international Television audiences how we roll in LA.
Come hear what Mark Allen, Paula Newby-Fraser, Michellie Jones, Dean Karnanzes, and a whole bunch more endurance athletes have to say about this new Swim Distance Challenge. (They won’t be there in person but we do have them on film talk about what an amazing swim this is going to be)
There are many opportunities to be involved. This is an opportunity of an endurance athletes lifetime. All of you will be invaluable to the success of this event that will show our hometown and benefit a series of local charities.
