TEAMCAM Run to Walk 5K
The Outdoor Fitness Adventure Club and friends & family of Cameron Piorek will be hosting the TEAMCAM RACE TO WALK 5K. The race will benefit the healing and well being of Cameron Piorek. Cameron is a 17 year old South Orange County athlete who was seriously injured while playing Lacrosse for Aliso Niguel High School. Cameron has suffered a fractured C-7 and displaced C-1 injury to his spine which left him paralyzed from the chest down with partial use of his arms. He is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation to prepare him for a progressive program in Carlsbad called Project Walk. The fundraising goal of TEAMCAM RACE TO WALK 5K committee is to raise over $150,000.00. The funds will benefit all aspects of Cameron’s health, healing and well being. It is estimated that the first year of a quadriplegics accident costs over $412,000.00. This fundraising event will take place at Crown Valley Community Park. The day will start at 6:30AM, where participants can pick up their packets and t-shirts. Preregistration is required; the first 1,000 participants will receive a tee-shirt to remember this day. The TEAMCAM RACE TO WALK 5K will include pre-race and post-race activities such as a Pancake Breakfast donated by Ruby’s Diner, San Juan Capistrano, Live Music, DJ, Silent Auction and much, much more!
