Topics include Intro to Adventure Racing: Racing solo/finding teammates, training, gear, hydration, clothing/shoes, and What to Expect at a Race: checking in/setting up, transitions, teamwork, and navigation. BIO: Bernice Pierson became addicted to adventure racing in March of 2002. She has raced sprint, 12 hour, 24 hour, 4-day stage, and 11 day expedition races. She is a successful mountain bike racer with podium finishes in cross country and ultra endurance races. She participated in the Global Extremes: Mt. Everest adventure that aired on the Outdoor Life Network. She also spent 3 months surviving off the land in Alaska as part of The Alaska Experiment that aired on the Discovery Channel in the spring of 2008. Bernice serves as the Beginner Liaison for the Southern California Adventure Racing Club and is a motivational speaker and writer.
