Ironman Western Australia

2.4 mi. swim • 112 mi. bike • 26.2 mi. run The host town of Busselton is situated in a long bay around three hours south of the state capital of Perth. Conditions are usually quite sheltered, making for fast times. For the third time in ten years, Busselton just won an award as the top tourist town in Western Australia, which ensures that Ironman is very welcome.

The swim goes around the awesome two kilometre jetty at Busselton, affording the public a unique view of the swim course. Once out of the water, the incredibly fast flat bike course awaits, which takes the triathletes through three 60km loops on flat fast roads through rare forest plantations protected from winds and on an excellent surface. The run course is a three-lap course along the Busselton foreshore. The huge tented Ironman Village in Barnard Park is where the transition is situated, which also serves as the halfway point of the run, affording spectators an unrivalled view of the final leg. The finish line offers the ultimate party atmosphere and won\'t quickly be forgotten by any of the finishers!
