How did you hear about LA Tri Club?
I was looking for a group to begin training / connecting with in LA for races. LA Tri Club came up recommended.

What got you interested in triathlon?
Call it aging as I decided playing IM soccer in NYC where everyone was a little slower and a little less coordinated than they were in high school and college was likely a recipe for injury. I've always admired triathletes, met a few friends who had done a few races, and decided to give it a try.

What was your first Triathlon?
My first race was Cap Tex (in Austin) Olympic race. I trained with Team in Training (and raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society)

What is your favorite race and why?
The NYC Triathlon is my favorite. We lived in NY for almost 10 years, and racing in Manhattan, down the Hudson (which sounds gross but is a super fast swim), riding up the west side highway, and running through the city is just such an energizing experience.

If you could pick three MUST HAVES / MUST DO'S on race day morning, what are they?
Don't really have any - maybe I need some :)

Have you been to any LATC events so far?

Not yet - looking forward to it.

Do you have any plans for more races in the near future?
I signed up for my first Half Ironman in June, Coure d'Alene

What do you do outside of your training?
I work in the tech industry, enjoy my Peloton, have two young kids, and my wife, kids, COVID dog and I go hiking most weekends.

What has been the most difficult thing for you personally about training for triathlons?
The swim is always tough - never liked swimming but have learned to gain comfort.

Do you know anyone else that is currently a member of LATC?
I don't but that's a big reason why I'm joining, I don't really know a lot of folks to just go out riding or running with (except my wife but tougher with the kids)
