Los Angeles Triathlon Club
Swim Event
COS - Chicken of the Sea Swim
Description This is a group open water swim for any LA Tri Clubbers or their Friends who wish to come, COS is directed towards those who are uncomfortable with waves due to the fact that water entry and exit is relatively calm and flat. This is NOT a coached workout, and our focus is not teaching you how to become comfortable in the water only providing a safe environment. It is highly recommended that you have previous open water experience and that you are comfortable in the ocean past the break. There are usually plenty of people going different distances and paces for you to buddy up with, no one swims alone.

Time: We meet at 8:15 and swim at 8:30.

Date: Every Sunday until the water is way too cold to swim.

Distances: (When I say towers I include the first tower)
500m - 2nd tower and back
1000km - 3rd tower and back
1.2 miles - 4th tower and back
1 1/2 miles - 5th tower and back
1.75 miles - 6th tower and back
2 miles - tower right before the pier and back (7th tower)

Please remember to sign in and sign out. Otherwise I will be calling around to find you. You can pre sign the emergency information and then don't have to fill it out every week.

Stephanie will take over the group from Oct 6-Nov 10 or until the water is too cold to swim. Whichever one comes first.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvjQbAOr_MnadHdzOGJ0UlllaXFQMlFNa3JWVXpxdXc&usp=sharing Parking: There are lots of free parking spots on Pacific Ave. Be sure to come early to get one and have time to walk to the meeting spot. Otherwise, there is meter parking but they only take quarters and a lot of them. Everyone swims at their own risk. And remember to shuffle your feet when going out and coming back in.
